'Dunbar'

'Dunbar', 101 Bunya Mountains Road, Kaimkillenbun, Qld

The country consists of heavy black brigalow soil and chocolate to red soils, which make it ideal for growing feed.

The 100 year old homestead was renovated in 2018 to maximize the natural light and airflow. Much of the timber had been sourced from ‘Conloi’.

New fencing has seen five extra paddocks, two dams fenced off and an enclosure around the sheds etc protecting newly planted trees.

Improved pastures include Gatton Panic, Bambatsi and Rhodes Grass and and some Leuceana and other legumes.

Our mixed sorghum silage forms the basis of our supplementary feeding regime.

Cattle yards have been extensively rebuilt to include a new branding crush/cradle, new vet crush, loading ramp and receiving yard.

We use Regenerative Grazing practices and reduce or eliminate the use of chemicals and artificial fertilizers where possible.

Robyn has developed a delightful garden and we have planted in excess of two hundred trees surrounding the Homestead complex.

In March 2021 we planted our mixed species winter crop.

Our weaners grazing our mixed species winter crop in August 2021.

'Conloi'

This 2,900 hectare property 25 km south of Wandoan was the home of Rasco Wagyu from year 2000 until its Sale in December 2016.

'Conloi' would run between 500 and 600 breeding females and background the steers and cull heifers to approx 400 kgs.

Much of the former softwood scrub was cleared and planted with Buffel grass, Seca stylo, Leuceana and Oats.
